POSITION: 2021-2022 School Year 9-12 Instructional Coach/ Intervention Teacher
One at Buena VistaPRIMARY FUNCTION
Under the direction of the school principal, the overriding responsibility of the 9-12 Instructional Coach/Intervention Teacher is to assist in the implementation of the content standards, instructional program best practices and services to students by serving as a model and resource for 9-12 teachers and students.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the school principal and Educational Services administrators, provide support, assistance and feedback to teachers on the implementation of best practices in teaching, professional development, curriculum and assessment, including:
•Advocate and reinforce District philosophy related to the importance of teaching the Common Core standards with fidelity.
•Share knowledge of effective strategies in instructional delivery.
•Work individually with teachers, academic teams and departments on effective instruction, best practices in assessment, grading, intervention and the implementation of professional development.
•Conduct demonstration lessons, assist with curriculum, assessment, academic interventions and implementation of standards based grading.
•Conduct classroom visits and observations, provide support and feedback on identified site and district professional development focus areas.
•Provide professional development on effective instruction, standards based grading, analysis of data and other topics that support learning.
•Collaborate with teams and facilitate PLC meetings to analyze data, plan interventions, develop common grading practices and other topics.
•Attend and actively participate in district provided Instructional Coaches’ meetings and professional development, applying new learnings to site responsibilities.
•Work cooperatively with school and district staff, serving as a model for collaboration.
•Prepare forms, records, reports and data to monitor and evaluate academic progress.
•Performs other duties related to support of the school at large.
•Successful teaching experience, with evaluations meeting or exceeding standard performance ratings.
•Valid California teaching credential.
•Appropriate certification to teach English Learners.
•Experience in collaborative planning and delivery of differentiated staff development to classroom practitioners.
•Knowledge of differentiated classroom instructional practices that promote student academic success.
•Knowledge and understanding of the needs of a diverse student population.
•Strong oral and written communication skills.
•Knowledge of effective instructional strategies and standards-based instruction.
Salary is dependent upon teaching experience and education. Full credit is given for approved years of prior teaching experience. The salary schedule extends from a minimum of $57,050 and to a maximum of $109,341 per year. There is a $1,500 annual stipend for BCLAD and a $1,000 annual stipend for CLAD.
